Is SaltWorks shipping really FREE?

Yes, on qualifying orders placed online and shipped via UPS Ground shipping anywhere in the contiguous United States. Additional shipping charges will apply for Alaska, Hawaii and international destinations. Faster shipping services will require a fee. If you have any questions about the offer, please call us toll free at (800) 353-7258 or email sales@saltworks.us.

What do I need to do to get free shipping?

Nothing! Free ground shipping is automatically calculated at checkout (No code required).

What qualifies for free shipping?

Any orders placed online on which additional discounts are not applied. Retail orders only.

What does not qualify?

Orders with additional discounts applied, i.e.: bulk orders with total weight pricing applied and wholesale orders, etc. Weight and volume restrictions will also apply.

FAQs - Shipping:

When do orders ship?

Most orders placed Monday through Friday before noon PST, ship the same day. However, all orders will leave our warehouse within 2 business days (business days are Monday-Friday, excluding holidays), unless otherwise notified. Standard time for shipping, as determined by UPS Ground service, is 2-7 business days for delivery. See transit map below for more detailed information about your specific location.

What shipping carriers do you use?

Most orders are shipped via UPS. The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) and FedEx are used to ship only by special request and may require additional handling fees. Please call us at (800) 353-7258 if you have a special request concerning this.

How are large orders shipped?

Large orders that are too heavy to be shipped via UPS will be shipped by truck freight (Common Carrier). Very large orders (over 250 lbs.) will be shipped via truck lines. Based on your location and the available shipper’s policy, you may be charged a residential delivery drop charge and/or a lift gate fee. We encourage you to arrange a commercial delivery address or to pick up your truck delivery at the terminal if possible. Truck orders must be quoted via phone.

When will I know my order has been shipped?

Once your order has shipped out, we will send a UPS tracking number to the email address provided during checkout.

How fast will I get my order?

Most orders are packed and shipped from our facility the same or next business day. Delivery to your location depends on how far the items are being shipped and the type of shipping service you select, as well as weather, UPS, holidays, and several other situations that are completely out of our control. Please see the UPS Ground map below for days-in-transit estimates. We also offer UPS Next Day Air, 2 Day Air and 3 Day Select for faster delivery service.

*Please note: SaltWorks is not responsible for undeliverable packages. If UPS has attempted delivery 3 times according to their policies, and they are unable to deliver to the shipping address given, UPS will automatically redirect the package back to the SaltWorks warehouse. The Customer will be responsible for all shipping charges incurred during this process. All delivery times shown are estimates, as UPS does not guarantee delivery time on Ground shipping. Please keep this in mind if time is critical. Days-in-transit begins on the first business day after an order is shipped. All transit days are business days (Monday-Friday, excluding holidays). *This map is a general representation of UPS Ground transit times.

How are shipping charges calculated?

We use UPS software that calculates shipping charges based on weight and destination zip code. We charge only the amount UPS charges us. We ship over a million pounds a year with UPS and receive a substantial shipping discount.

Why do you need my contact number and email address?

We must have accurate contact information in case of product backorders or delivery issues. UPS also requires a contact phone number for all deliveries in case of any issues at the time of attempted delivery. Also, your email address is used to send your order confirmation and tracking information for your shipment. Your information will never be sold or shared with any third parties.

Do you ship internationally?

We can offer international shipping. Quotes will be provided on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us at (800) 353-7258 or sales@saltworks.us with your international inquiries.

How about shipping to Canada?

Charges for shipping to Canada are based on the weight of your parcel and will be accurately displayed in your online shopping cart (subject to offline verification). Please note that customs, duties, taxes, and other import fees may be imposed on shipments separately from the shipping cost by the Canadian government. SaltWorks cannot be responsible for these charges. If you do not presently have a broker of choice in Canada and choose UPS to broker your shipment, UPS will bring the shipment to your location via C.O.D. UPS will require payment of these charges at time of delivery and will not release the goods to you without payment. We urge you to check with local authorities regarding customs, duties, taxes and import charges prior to ordering if you are not already familiar with them. Finalizing and submitting your order indicates your acceptance of any duties and taxes. All orders are in US Dollars.


FAQs - Returns:

When do I need to notify you of a return?

We are sure you will love your selection of salts. If there was a problem with your shipment or you need to make a return, please notify us within 30 days of receiving your order.

Customers will be responsible for any return shipping costs. Orders placed with the free shipping special are not eligible for returns or exchanges.
